SW34th Street Over Interstate 35
- Client: City of Moore
- Project Type: Structural Design, Roadway Design, Traffic Engineering & Accessibility
About this Project
EST worked to provide plans to the City of Moore from conceptual through to final design for an offset alignment to connect SW 34th Street over I-35. The City of Moore wanted to minimize both right-of-way and construction costs for this project. Utilities within the project extents played a large role in the design of the project and lead to an offset alignment south of the existing road. Several possible roadway configurations were compared in the conceptual report to determine the most cost effective design.
The proposed improvements included widening and full depth construction of the existing two lane road to a four lane, curbed, concrete road with ADA compliant sidewalks from west of Telephone Road east over I-35 and ending east of the Little River. Construction plans included the widening of Telephone Road into a four lane, curbed, concrete road with left turn lanes at the intersection of SW 34th Street as well as widening to provide left turn lanes on each service road.
