South Mustang Road Reconstruction – From SH 152 to the Railroad
- Client: City of Mustang
- Project Type: Roadway Design and Construction Management
- Services: Survey, Utility Relocation, Construction Phasing, Geotechnical, and Materials Testing
About this Project
EST provided engineering services for the City of Mustang to design and manage the reconstruction of the South Mustang Road Widening Project.
Project involved roadway widening, two-way left turn lane (TWLTL) addition, storm sewer system, grading, and paving. This road provides access to one of the largest high schools in the state. This project’s purpose was to improve safety, to alleviate high traffic levels, to provide a safe, ADA compliant pedestrian sidewalk, and to drain a relatively flat roadway.
This project provides construction phasing to maintain one-way access, which was a major project challenge. An additional challenge required some storm sewer construction phasing into a standalone project, which was not anticipated at the original project scoping. Project required multiple meetings to meet city concerns, to discuss design criteria, and to ensure ongoing school construction project phasing. EST provided bidding services and is currently performing construction inspection.
