About this Project

EST is under an on-call contract with TxDOT which includes acquiring pavement samples on various roadways within the Paris District utilizing Shelby push tubes at a depth of up to 48 inches. Identification of the existing materials in each pavement layer is performed and provided to TxDOT. EST is responsible for testing the subgrade at each core location to determine Atterberg Limits and sulfate concentrations. Each core location is documented using a Trimble Handheld Global Positioning System along with pictures of the core and roadway. EST utilized in-house resources to provide traffic control in accordance with the TxMUTCD and TxDOT standards while performing the core drilling operations on various roadways ranging from low-speed urban roadways to high-speed freeways.
