John Kilpatrick Turnpike – Southwest Loop
- Client: Oklahoma Turnpike Authority
- Project Type: Structural Design, Construction Management and Materials Testing
About this Project
As a partner on the John Kilpatrick Turnpike (JKT) design team, EST provided the design and construction plan preparation for 9 bridges in a section of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike extension called the Southwest Loop which will connect to SH-152 through Oklahoma and Canadian Counties. Eight of the structures are prestressed concrete girder bridges with four on curved alignment, with one two-cell box culvert. The design and bid packages were completed and the bridges were let in two packages. EST also was a partner on the Construction Management Team responsible for testing and inspections.
The nearly six mile turnpike extension, owned and operated by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, will alleviate traffic on I-40 and provide easier access to the Will Rogers World Airport.
