About this Project
EST successfully completed the evaluation and rehabilitation design for this three-span P.C. beam bridge carrying the Indian Nation Turnpike over Peaceable Creek near McAlester, Oklahoma. The project began with a full bridge inspection, condition evaluation, and existing structure analysis. It was determined that the deck, traffic rails, AASHTO Type IV P.C. beams, elastomeric bearing systems, and approach slabs would be replaced, and the substructure would be rehabilitated. The project was phased to keep one lane of traffic in each direction open during all construction activities. The contract was used to bring the structure up to current OTA standards including XJS System expansion devices, CIM 1000 special concrete finish on substructures, and traffic safety improvements such as cable barrier and impact attenuators along the high speed facility.
