Buddy Williams, PE Joins EST as Texarkana Regional Director
EST is proud and fortunate to welcome Jere A. “Buddy” Williams, P.E. to the EST Team! Buddy previous served as TxDOT Atlanta District Engineer since June 2020.
Buddy is a native of Clarksville, Texas where he began his TxDOT career working summers in the Red River County Maintenance Section. He then worked summers in the Paris Residency until he graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 1990 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Upon graduation, Buddy joined the Atlanta District where he spent the next 23 years in the Texarkana Area Office doing every fun thing an engineer could do such as surveying, building roads and bridges, and design work. He was the project engineer on the two largest construction projects ever awarded in the Atlanta District. Williams then served as Atlanta District’s Director of Construction from March of 2013 to July of 2018.
In July of 2018, Williams moved to Austin and became the Deputy Director of the Construction Division. In September of 2018, he was tasked with re-establishing Materials and Tests as a division after being part of CST for 20 years. Then in February 2019, he became the Director of the Materials and Tests Division. He returned home to northeast Texas in June of 2020 when he was selected to be the Atlanta District Engineer.
