Fiddler’s Green Circle, City of Greenwood Village
The City of Greenwood Village, Colorado is developing the area around the Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater to be their New Town Center. The existing roadway serving the area is a four-lane facility with parking lanes on each side. The project goal is to transform the entire area to be pedestrian friendly by converting the four-lane roadway to a two-lane roadway with angled parking. In addition, each of the intersections received pedestrian bulb-outs and improved crosswalks. Four intersections received traffic signals. The City uses the DOT standard of 170 traffic controllers. Each of the signals included micro cameras for detection and specialized pedestrian buttons. Decorative bases and luminaries were installed on signal poles.
