Construction Project Engineer

EST, Inc., a full-service, multi-disciplinary transportation engineering firm, is hiring for numerous positions in our rapidly-expanding Denver, CO office. Position Description and Responsibilities:
Serve as Project Engineer on Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and local agency construction projects in accordance with CDOT practices. Would be EST’s primary point of contact on site with responsibility for client management, contract management, contractor coordination and communications, staff management, and oversight of all on-site work for EST. This person would be expected to fulfill the roles of Project Engineer and Senior Inspector as workload or other situations dictate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer with 10 years’ proven success as an on-site Project Engineer on heavy/highway construction projects, preferably in accordance with CDOT specifications and practices.
  • Must be a collaborator and excellent communicator, able to handle stressful situations and facilitate solution-focused discussions with the owner and contractor. Must have a thorough and complete working knowledge of CDOT’s Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, and CDOT’s Construction Manual.
  • Skilled in communicating and expressing ideas effectively, orally and in writing; and in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle a large variety of projects and assignments simultaneously; in reading and understanding highway construction plans; in analyzing and interpreting data.
